Why is part of my poster file cut off in the proof? 

It is common for customers to feel concerned once they receive their proof, as parts of the poster design may seem to be cut off or missing.

Many hesitate to give their final approval because they worry there has been an error in the design or file preparation.

Rest assured, this is not a mistake in the proof production process. The reason some content appears cropped is that we need to reserve a 1.5-2mm bleed area for final trimming.

To help you clearly identify the boundaries, we mark the exact cut line with a solid black line.Any content or background outside this black line will be trimmed off during production.

The area inside the black line is your safe zone, where all important text, logos, and design elements will remain fully visible on the finished product.

You may be wondering: why don’t we simply add a 2mm colored border around every design to ensure the entire artwork is preserved? The answer lies in the nature of physical trimming. During production, there may be minor, natural deviations when cutting each item. These shifts are normally undetectable to the naked eye. However, if we add an extra solid-color border, even the smallest trimming shift will become highly obvious, resulting in an uneven or unprofessional finish.

To avoid this issue, we trim 1.5-2mm directly from the edge of your original design instead of adding extra background colors.

If there are specific elements you absolutely want to keep fully visible, such as important text or key graphics, please clearly note this in your order. We also highly recommend that you leave sufficient bleed area in your original file to prevent important content from being too close to the edge!
